Master of Animatronics
Today we’d like to share with you the fantastic art form of animatronics and one of its masters, Gustav Hoegen. You might not have heard of him before, but when you watch his most recent show reel, you will realize that you most certainly have seen some of his work. The way he makes these robots move and make them look so life like is just mind blowing! We are hugely impressed. Definitely a name to remember.
PEPPERMILL HOSTS Behance review week
As previously announced, Peppermill is taking part as a host in the upcoming Behance Portfolio Review Week. It will be a great opportunity to meet other creatives from your area as well as industry leaders, who you will be able to show your portfolio to. During the event, we will showcase some of our best work, as well as the work of our partnered industry professionals. We will then, in small groups, review and give advice on your own work. This will be followed by a meet-and-greet with drinks. Nice!
Motor Komm's and Peppermill's "Hoffest"
What a great evening! Plenty of sausages and even more beer were consumed when Motor Kommunikation and Peppermill-Berlin welcomed their clients and friends to their new offices. We'd like to thank everyone who helped organise this brilliant get together and of course everyone who came along. We have already put "Hoffest 2013" in our calendars. When bad CGI happens to big budget movies
We have all seen it, a small budget horror film with a CGI creature that was meant to fill you with fear but instead leaves you laughing out loud. However, when small budget CGI appears in big budget blockbusters, you are left shaking your head in disbelief. In this brilliant article, Ashe Cantrell has collected 6 of the more spectacular CGI fails. It begs the question “Who on earth signed off on this?” Enjoy!
Zombie Outbreak
This Friday we have a Halloween special for you. This fantastic clip by Side Films was an instant hit in our office! The FX are almost too good and without wanting to reveal too much, but we did not see the twist at the end coming. Great concept and great execution. Top marks guys! Happy Halloween!!
Making of Stihl Ts 500i
Here is a short video that goes behind the scenes of one our most challenging productions to date - "The Big Bang". Producing a three minute film which explains the advantages of a highly technical piece of machinery such as the TS500i, while at the same time telling a story and making it look sexy was no easy task. But in the end we managed to combine all the elements and this is how it was done.

Based in London, Chris Skrzypek is responsible for Peppermill’s UK and international business. In addition, he takes care of the project and account management in London and Berlin. Working together with Max Baberg, he also looks after Peppermill’s overall marketing and PR campaigns. Very tasty VFX
It’s time for another brilliant VFX breakdown. This time it’s for Dan Blanks awesome film “Monster Roll”, in which sushi chefs battle various creatures and monsters. As this breakdown illustrates, it’s not only the shots with huge monsters that require VFX work, but also shots where at first glance you wouldn’t have thought they contained any VFX… All together great work! Now, who wants to go for some sushi?

Behance Review @ Peppermill
Last week Peppermill took part as a host in Behance’s 2nd Portfolio Review Week - and what a success it was! We would like to thank Behance for giving us the opportunity to be a part of this worldwide event. We’d also like to thank Daniel Büttner, Sascha Westphal, Armin Kepplinger and Robert Seidel for their participation and fascinating presentations. The video was produced by the same team that was responsible for the game Need for Speed: Most Wanted. What a great idea and even better execution. Makes us want to dig out our old r/c cars and have a go ourselves!
